Martingale Betting Strategy

With the allure of 35/1 odds and the potential of massive rewards at the roulette table. Many people the world over have been lured into the belief there must be a system to beat the wheel. Many years ago one so called strategy was coined that was so simple people thought it could not possibly fail. This strategy is now referred to as the martingale betting strategy.

The martingale strategy is just basic math. Every time you lose your bet you double your next bet in order to cover the bet you just lost and the original bet that was supposed to win giving you a profit. The only trouble with this is its fundamentally flawed. How can this be you ask ?. Well to start off with lets say we bet $5 and you lose the bet. You then have to bet $10 to recoup your loss of $5 and to win a profit of $5. but what if this loses as well ? We then have to bet $20 to again recoup the losses and again to win $5. Now lets say we lose 7 - 8 times in a row. You would be betting around $320 then $640 dollars just to win $5 !. How crazy is that ?. you might think, yeah but how likely is it to lose 7, 8 times in a row, well let me tell you. I have seen with my own eyes casinos run black 15, 20 times before skipping back over to red. And if you dont believe me go check out your local casino and watch the numbers board displaying the last 20 or so numbers drawn. You will be surprised as to the frequency it happens.

It would be great if we were all rich and had unlimited funds we could just carry on the martingale betting strategy until we won couldn't we ? - err wrong again !. Remember casinos always have the edge and due to the introduction of the martingale strategy, casinos introduced "table limits". So you can only double up around 5 or 6 times before going over the house limit. This is to prevent the main effectiveness of the martingale strategy and negates its effectiveness totally, hence i would stay well clear of it unless you want to go broke fast.
